What we do

Door & lock repair, done right the first time

Older Bay Area homes settle, and doors start to rub, stick or stop latching. Usually the fix is tightening or adjusting hinges, moving the strike plate or a little planing, not a new door.

New knobs, levers and deadbolts are a quick upgrade, and they're a smart move after you move in. You pick the hardware, and we install it and make sure every key and latch works.

Typical time: 20–60 min each. A 3-hour visit usually covers four to six jobs, and a 2-hour visit fits a shorter list, so add the rest of your list. See all services.

What's included

  • Doors that stick, rub or won't latch
  • Adjusting hinges and strike plates
  • Replacing knobs, levers and handles
  • Installing and replacing deadbolts
  • Replacing hinges and door stops
  • Fixing loose or squeaky hardware

Before your visit

How to get ready

Helpful to have ready

  • Send a photo or short video of the door opening and closing
  • For new locks, measure the door thickness and the existing holes, or send photos
  • Buy the hardware we recommend

Customers buy parts upfront at store prices with no markup. After seeing your photos we send the exact list, and we can pick it up on the way.

Good to know

Hanging a new door in a new opening or changing door framing is a bigger job that we quote separately. Rekeying and lockouts are usually best handled by a locksmith.

We text you the next open day in your area. A $50 Zelle deposit reserves it, and it counts toward your total.

  3. Parts ready to go

We tell you exactly what to buy. You order it for store pickup or delivery, and we grab it on the way, so your visit time goes to the work.

FAQ

Door & lock repair questions

How much does door repair cost?

It's part of the flat $189 for 2 hours or $250 for 3 hours, with as many other jobs as fit.

Can you fix a door that won't latch?

Yes. Most latching problems come from loose hinges or a misaligned strike plate, and we adjust both.

Can you install a new deadbolt?

Yes. You buy the deadbolt and we install it, including on doors that already have a deadbolt hole.

Do you rekey locks?

Rekeying is usually a locksmith job. We can replace the lock with a new one that comes with its own new keys.
